BOOK OF LIFE
MEMBERSHIPS
Dear W. I. Members:
At a recent meeting of the Executive it
was decided to compile a record of Life Memberships
in book form and the work was entrusted
to me.
The first Life Memberships in the Alberta
Women's Institutes were given in 1949 to two
members who had served our organization in
positions of trust and prominence for many
• ears. They were Mrs. H. J. Montgomery
» d . Mrs. A. H. Rogers. Since its inception, •
. otal of forty- nine Life Memberships have
~. sn bestowed. Our Provincial Treasurer,
Mrs. L. D. Smith, has kept a record of these
for our provincial files, but for obvious reasons
this record cannot be made available for general
reading by our members. The Book of
Life Memberships will fill that need in future
at Provincial Conventions, etc., and our members
will be able to read the record of those
to whom this honor has been given._ „ .
Here briefly is the material I shall need to
compile the book: A biography of not more
than two hundred and fifty words, giving the
personal history of the member, with special
emphasis upon her contribution to Women's
Institute work on any and all levels. Details
of her activity in other organizations should
be kept at a minimum. A clear snaoshot or
photograph not in excess of 3 by 5 inches
will be required. There will be no charge for
this extra service. Will each branch be re-
SDonsible for sending this needed material for
their members who are eligible for inclusion
in the book.
