Porn crackdown approved
EDMONTON ( Staff) — Alberta Women's Institutes sent a message
of congratulation to federal minister of justice John Crosbie for
taking a stand against pornography.
The organization has long been lobbying for some action by government.
While they don't necessarily agree with the government's
definition of pornography, which does not distinguish between erotica
and hard core pornography, second vice- president Holly Hallett
said they are pleased legislation has been introduced.
The AWI recommendation congratulates the minister for introducing
legislation controlling the production and distribution of pornographic
material, especially for proposed legislation in regards to sexual
assault and abuse of children.
