Marjory Hyndman was horn i n England of S c o t t i s h parentage.
Her f a t h e r was engaged i n the wholesale business and
was able to give h i s daughters many educational advantages
such as attending a p r i v a t e school. During the E i r s t Great
War the d i s r u p t i o n of trade brought a r e v e r s a l of the f a m i l y
fortunes and the Hyndmans came t o Saskatchewan t o make t h e ir
home. Marjory, who was s t i l l a young g i r l , attended high
school at B a l c a r r e s and Qu « Appelle, Saskatchewan, and l a t er
