MPS. SALE N A BPOWN
Salena Brown was a charter member of the Rockyview Branch of
the Women's I n s t i t u t e when i t was organized i n 1938. She served on
the Executive as w e l l as being Chairman of a Standing Committee at
Constituency l e v e l . When t h i s Branch disbanded she t r a n s f e r r e d her
membership to the Turner V a l l e y Branch i n 19^ 2.
Salena immediately became very busy with a l l the branch p r o j e
c t s . The main i n t e r e s t at that time was the Swimming Pool which was
owned and operated by the Women's I n s t i t u t e . For many years she
served as Secretary- Treasurer of the Swimming Pool account which
included supervising the pay r o l l , h i r i n g L i f e Guards and Instructors
as w e l l as organizing the annual spring " Clean Up". Salena was
not just i n charge, she was r i g h t i n there swinging her paint brush
