the Post O f f i c e of Haddock which was named f o r her husband.
She joined the Women's I n s t i t u t e i n 1920 and has taken an
a c t i v e part i n the o r g a n i z a t i o n ever since.
She i s keenly i n t e r e s t e d i n a l l community p r o j e c ts
and p a r t i c u l a r l y i n the h e a l t h of the community. She has
given a great deal of time and e f f o r t i n support of the
Nurses' Home i n Peers and was an a c t i v e h e l p e r when the W. I.
sponsored Dental C l i n i c s f o r the school c h i l d r e n . She supported
the d i s t r i c t nurses' f i r s t e f f o r t s to e s t a b l i sh
immunization c l i n i c s f o r the school c h i l d r e n by g i v i n g the
use of her home once a month f o r that purpose.
Mrs. Haddock s t i l l l i v e s on the homestead. Her son
and three grandchildren l i v e near her. Her daughter, Martha,
and f i v e grandchildren reside i n E v e r e t t , Washington. Mrs.
Haddock i s very i n t e r e s t e d i n h a n d i c r a f t s and makes a hobby
of hand- hooked rugs, t e x t i l e p a i n t i n g and crocheting.
On December 11, 1957 the three " branches of Mahaska,
Carrot Creek and Hattonford bestowed a L i f e Membership upon
Mrs. Haddock i n r e c o g n i t i o n of her many years of service
" Eor Home and Country".
