MRS. C. A. FERGSTAD
Mable Johnson was horn i n Brant, South Dakota,
and i n 1910 came with her parents to the Round H i l l -
d i s t r i c t of Alberta. It, was here i n 1917 she was united
In marriage to Charles Fergstad.
She joined the Round H i l l Women's I n s t i t u t e i n
1918 and was s t i l l an active member when she was presented
with her l i f e Membership i n 1953. It i s said of Mrs. Ferg-stad
that she i s the backbone of her branch and that when
she misses a meeting things are not just the same. She
has held every o f f i c e i n her branch and i s a f i r m believer
in The Creed.
Round H i l l W. I. credits Mrs. Pergstad and Mrs. Quail
with having brought the health nurse to the community i n the
early years and also with the b u i l d i n g of the community h a ll
which was completed i n 1922.
Her L i f e Membership i n the Alberta Women's I n s t i t u t es
was bestowed upon her by her branch with Mrs. S. Lefsrud,
P r o v i n c i a l President, making the presentation.
