MRS. A. L. HOGG
Mrs. A* L. Hogg, " born Mildred Look,
comes of a long l i n e of English ancestors.
Her birthplace was i n Hampshire i n 1891.
She attended school and high school at
Eurton- on- Trent. On A p r i l 2, 1912, she
and Alexander Hogg were wed i n the Pro-
Cathedral i n Calgary, Alberta. To t h is
union were born three sons, two of whom
served i n the R. C. A. P. i n World War 11,
and one daughter. The Hoggs spent the
f i r s t seven years of t h e i r married l i fe
at Sundre.
She joined the St. E l o i Women's
Institute i n 1923 and when that group
disbanded she joined Rugby W. I. i n 1930.
She has twice served as Constituency Convener and was given
her L i f e Membership i n the Alberta Women's I n s t i t u t e s by Rugby
W. I. i n 1954.
Mrs. Hogg i s an active member of the Red Cross and
served as Convener f o r Red Cross work i n the West Didsbury
area. She writes that she manages to knit three pairs of
sox and one or two sweaters each month f o r that organization
as well as k n i t t i n g an endless amount f o r her nine grandchildren
and three great grandchildren.
She i s proud she r a r e l y misses a meeting of her branch
nor f a i l s to attend the P r o v i n c i a l Conventions.
