MR5. JAMES T. MORRISROE
Ethel Marguerite ( S t i c k l a n d ) M o r r i s r o e , f o u r t h c h i l d i n a family
of six was born near Penhold where her parents, Mr. and M r s . S t i c k l a nd
farmed. Later the family moved to the Ridgewood d i s t r i c t . E t h e l received
her p u b l i c schooling there, then graduated from High School in
Red Deer. Deciding on a teaching career, she entered Camrose Normal
School and enjoyed f i v e years teaching at T i n d a s t o l l and Ridgewood
Schools before leaving to be married.
On August 7,1940 she was married to James Morrisroe who farmed
i n the Pine H i l l d i s t r i c t , t h e r e they l i v e d for eight years before
moving to a farm within the c i t y l i m i t s of Red Deer. This was her
home for 27 years and when the c i t y surrounded t h e i r buildings they
