MRS. W. GRACE OATWAY
Mrs. Grace ( G i l l r i e ) Oatway was " born i n the v i l l a ge
of Arthur, Wellington County, Ontario, the daughter of a
hardware merchant of English and United Empire Loyalist
stock. After the death of her father, Grace G i l l r i e ' s family
moved to a farm near Spruce Grove i n Alberta.
She was always interested i n church work and became
active as organist i n the only church i n the d i s t r i c t at that
time. The musical side of l i f e appealed to her and through
the years she made a valuable contribution to the l i f e of the
community through her g i f t s of playing and singing.
After her marriage to Dr. R. M. Oatway, she moved to
