MRS. HERBERT MILLER
Mrs. M i l l e r was born Tomora Stamper i n Paris, Texas,
i n 1893. Her family l i v e d for a time i n Oklahoma and i t was
here she met and married Herbert M i l l e r i n 1913. Three years
l a t e r the M i l l e r family moved to Alberta and s e t t l e d west of
Wetaskiwin i n the Angus Ridge d i s t r i c t.
In 1919 Mrs. M i l l e r joined the Angus Ridge Women's Institute
and f o r three years she had perfect attendance. In 1926
the M i l l e r s again moved - this time taking up residence two
miles east of the c i t y of Wetaskiwin where they s t i l l reside.
Mrs. M i l l e r then joined the Wetaskiwin Branch on February 24,
1926 and from 1928 u n t i l 1937 she had a record of perfect a t t endance
at the meetings; a very creditable record, indeed.
She was a busy farm wife and mother of s i x children.
She held the o f f i c e of branch president f o r several terms. She
has worked f a i t h f u l l y and w e l l , especially when there was any
catering to be done Mrs. M i l l e r was always right at hand.
Wetaskiwin Women's Institute presented her with a L i fe
Membership i n the Alberta Women's Institutes i n 1955, i n
appreciation of her years of l o y a l service.
