She was born Jenny K r i s t i n e Nelson on J u l y 3i 1901, i n
Bods j o , Bxn, Jantland, Sweden. She came to Canada i n 1908 a t
the age of seven. She married K a r l Oscar S j o l i n on June 29t
192^+ i n Wetaskiwin. To t h i s union three sons were born. Karl
H. now l i v i n g In Aurora, Ontario, Oscar and John both married
and l i v i n g i n the Falun area. They a l s o have a f o s t e r daught
e r Ida, now married to Merle Orr of Rosalind, A l b e r t a . Mr.
and Mrs. S j o l i n have t h i r t e e n grandchildren. Mrs. S j o l i n has
two daughters- in- law members of the Falun women's I n s t i t u t e.
Mrs. S j o l i n joined the Falun Women's I n s t i t u t e i n 1930,
making her a charter member of our branch. She h e l d o f f i ce
as President, as w e l l as D i r e c t o r . She i s a very w i l l i ng
worker and a f a i t h f u l member. She o f t e n drove a horse and
wagon i n the e a r l i e r years to meetings, picking up other
women so they could attend.
Jenny has always enjoyed gardening and flowers.
