c h e e r f u l and conscientious worker, g i v i n g f r e e l y of her
time and she has never f a i l e d to enter work i n the handi
c r a f t d i s p l a y s . These a r t i c l e s have often been donated
f o r r a f f l e s t o r a i s e funds f o r the Women's I n s t i t u t e.
She was' born Grace E l i z a b e t h S t i t t i n C a r d i n a l,
Ontario i n 1 8 9 2 . In 1896 her f a m i l y moved west t o A l b e r t a
where her f a t h e r homesteaded at B i g Rock, Okotoks. The
f a m i l y l i v e d s u c c e s s i v e l y at High River and Carmangay.
Grace S t i t t married Lindsay Scott Meister on May 14,
1913. They reared a f a m i l y of two sons and two da/ ughters.
In the summer Mrs. Meister spends much time i n her
garden growing vegetables and flowers o f which she has a
wonderful d i s p l a y.
Mrs. M e i s t e r has e x e m p l i f i e d i n h er l i f e the Creed
that Women's I n s t i t u t e members hold dear.
