few years confined her news to the Edmonton papers. She was also custodian of the Loan Collection f o r several years and i n 1939 was co- author with Mrs. A. H. Rogers i n compiling the History of the Alberta Women's I n s t i t u t e s . For several years she conducted the broadcasts over Radio Station C. Z. U. A. Edmonton. She was a L i f e Member of the Federated Women's Institutes of Canada. Mrs. Montgomery was a member of the Edmonton branch of the Dickens Fellowship and the H i s t o r i c a l Society. Being an Oldtimer herself i t was natural for her to take an active interest i n the Old Timers' Association of Northern Alberta. She was elected president of that body a short time before her death. She was the mother of two sons, Lawrence who died i n 1922 after a long i l l n e s s , and Kenneth G. who l i v e s i n Edmonton and has two sons, Lawrence and Douglas, who were Mrs. Montgomery's pride and joy. 2- n her years of service to the Women's I n s t i t u t es she travelled the length and breadth of the province making many warm friends. She possessed tact, kindliness and courage and a wonderful sense of humour which helped to sustain her during the many years of f a i l i n g health. On January 21, 1952 death called Mrs. Montgomery. Her memory w i l l be cherished as a kind and generous o f f i c e r and friend of the Alberta Women's I n s t i t u t e s. As a memorial to Mrs. Montgomery the Alberta Women's Institutes established a scholarship i n music which bears her name.
