Molly Wilson, born Molly C. Hagen,
f i r s t saw the l i g h t of day i n Minot, North
Dakota, i n 1887. In 1906 she and her family
arrived i n Alberta and settled at Battle
Lake, west of Wetaskiwin. She did o f f i ce
work p r i o r to her marriage to Edward Wilson
in 1912. Two children were born to t h is
union, both of whom became teachers.
Mrs. Wilson became a member of Angus
Ridge Women's Institute when i t was f i r s t
organized. She served one year as president and a l l through
the years she has. been the o f f i c i a l organist at meetings and
other branch functions requiring the services of an organist.
She has done some outstanding handicraft, such as fine
embroidery and q u i l t i n g . Mrs. Wilson has always been a w i l l ing
worker i n the branch. During the years she has given a
home to many boys and g i r l s whose parents were forced to be
away and go out to work. Mrs. Wilson could be counted upon
to look a f t e r the welfare of these children and to send them
to the r u r a l school close by.
Angus Ridge Women's Institute conferred a L i f e Membership
upon Mrs. Wilson f o r her long years of service to the
branch, i n 1956.
