MRS. SWAIN SWAINSON
Mrs. Swain Swainson was born Struna Sigurdson i n I896 i n
the country d i s t r i c t of Pine H i l l about twenty miles, south west of
Red Deer. She came of pioneer stock of Icelandic parentage. Her
father, Ofeugur Sigurdson and his young wife came from Iceland to
a farm i n the Pine H i l l d i s t r i c t i n I889 and i t was here that Struna
was born, one of a family of four sisters and one brother.
The Sigurdson family experienced through the years the joys,
sorrows, defeats and triumphs of the early settlers.
