i'lmma Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. A l l e n , was
born A p r i l 8th, 1894, at Carmen, Manitoba, iiere she spent her
childhood, later moving to Winnipeg with her family. She married
William Thomas tfood i n Winnipeg, and they made their home there
u n t i l 1934, when Mr. Wood was transferred to Edmonton, Alberta.
Mrs. Wood joined the Edmonton Women's Institute i n 1935, and
was chosen to act as Branch Secretary the following year. She
continued i n that Office for five years. She was President f or
three years, and Treasurer for three years. Mrs. Wood was the
Secretary at the D i s t r i c t Conferences for a number of years, and
for four years served as Constituency Convener.
