This marriage was blessed with a family of eight c h i l d r e n , f i ve boys and three g i r l s . The MePhails farmed South of Belmont u n t i l 1923. In A p r i l , 1925, the f a m i l y moved t o Peace River, and farmed i n the Strong Creek D i s t r i c t t i l l 1963, when they r e t i r e d to l i v e i n the town of Peace River. Mrs. MePhail has always been i n t e r e s t e d i n Community a f f a i r s. In 1916 she belonged to the Manitoba Economic Society a t Belmont, which eventually joined the Women's I n s t i t u t e . She loves music, and for many years helped with Christmas concerts at t h e i r school. She also taught Sunday School. Mrs. MePhail was made a L i f e Member of the A l b e r t a Cancer Society and.// as also awarded a Service P i n by the Red Cross. She canvassed f o r the Red Cross Society t h i s year, a remarkable feat for a woman of eighty. She joined the Peace River Women's I n s t i t u t e i n September 1938, and served a year as Vice- President, and four years as President. She as convener, both at Branch and Constituency l e v e l s , of several Committees, and she frequently " pinch h i t s " for our Radio Reporter. Mrs. MePhail has t r u l y been a F a i t h f u l Member.
