MRS. ORMAN GEOVER 3IBBALD
Born on May 23, I887, a daughter, Margaret E l l e n , to
John James and Dora Jane Lamb of Gateshead- on- Tyne, England;
one who has contributed much to the progress of the A l b e r ta
V/ omen's I n s t i t u t e s . She was brought up and educated i n England
u n t i l the f a m i l y l e f t i n 1904 f o r Canada. - Estevan,
Saskatchewan, was t h e i r d e s t i n a t i o n . She l i v e d there u n t il
her marriage to Orman Grover Sibbald, a n a t i v e Canadian of
S c o t t i s h ancestry.
They were s t a t i o n e d at McLean, Saskatchewan; l a t e r moving
to Stoughton where Mr. Sibbald was a Canadian P a c i f i c Railway
Agent. They moved to A l b e r t a i n 1917 l i v i n g at Oyen and Mareno
u n t i l t r a n s f e r r e d to Munson e a r l y i n 1919. Here they resided
u n t i l March 1945 when Mr. Sibbald passed away and the f a m i l y had
to leave t h e i r happy home of some twenty- six years of t h e ir
marriage.
