On December 20,1950 she married V i l j o e n K r i t z i n g e r , a South A f r i c an
medical student who obtained h i s degree i n Edinburgh i n 1952, The K r i t -
zingers spent the next s i x years i n various h o s p i t a l residency programs
i n England, and acquired two sons along the way, Anton born i n 1953
i n England and P h i l i p i n January 1956 i n Scotland. They emigrated to
Canada i n February 1959 and s e t t l e d i n Paradise H i l l , Saskatchewan, where
t h e i r t h i r d son Geoff was born i n May of that year. The K r i t z i n g e r s then
moved to Stony P l a i n , A l b e r t a i n November 1962 and s t i l l reside there.
A i l e e n was active i n the Cub and Scout movement i n Stony P l a i n f or
many years and also acted as a C. G. I. T. leader f o r two years. From I969
- 1977 she served as a School Trustee representing the town of Stony P l a in
on the County of Parkland School Board. While a trustee she served on
the P r o v i n c i a l Education Council and also served on various Government
of Alberta ad hoc committees. She has been a member of the Board of the
Women's Canadian Club of Edmonton since I98O and served as President
from 1984- 1986. She taught i n Scotland f o r two years before coming to
Canada.
From 1974 she has been an administrator at her husband's medical
c l i n i c i n Spruse Grove.
A i l e e n has been a member of the Women's I n s t i t u t e since her a r r i v al
i n Canada, f i r s t with the Paradise H i l l Homemakers and then with the
Stony P l a i n W. I. She has been an active member of the Stony P l a i n W. I.
for over 20 years, and during that time she has served i n most o f f i c es
at branch l e v e l.
She served as Stony P l a i n - Lac St. Anne Constituency Convener f or
3 years and from 1978- I98I was Director of D i s t r i c t 2. In both o f f i c es
she became w e l l known f o r her capable handling of the p o s i t i o n , her
