Williams passed away i n 1937.
Mrs. Williams was one of the ladies responsible for
the forming of the Westward Ho V/ omen's Institute and became
a Charter Member when the branch held i t s organization meeting
at her home i n June 1917. Her home was always open for W. I.
meetings and work sessions. She held many offices during the
succeeding years.
Mrs. Williams, now t o t a l l y blind, makes her home at
the CNIB Home i n Calgary. She sends baskets she has made to
the branch at Westward Ho to be r a f f l e d for the benefit of the
i n s t i t u t e . The members enjoy her l e t t e r s written i n her own
hand by the use of a frame to keep the lines straight. They
take turns writing to her i n love and happy memory.
Westward Ho Women's Institute presented Mrs. Williams
with a L i f e Membership i n the Alberta Women's Institutes in
appreciation of a grand neighbor, pioneer and, most of a l l ,
for the many years of f a i t h f u l service to her branch. This
was presented to her i n November I960.
