Anniversary. At community functions she entertained with her readings
and was o f t e n mistress o f ceremonies f o r showers and f a r e w e l l
p a r t i e s ( and i s never a t a l o s s f o r words). Anyone sick, bereaved or
burned out would receive baking from her - " Angel Food Cakes" were
her s p e c i a l t y . No I n s t i t u t e meeting or Community f u n c t i o n seemed
complete without her presence with her w i t t y remarks and her j o v i a l
p e r s o n a l i t y.
Evelyn has been a f a i t h f u l supporter of the United Missionary
Church and l a t e r of the Lutheran Church i n town. She taught Sunday
School for years i n both churches and worked with the Women's Groups
i n both churches.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Arthur, A p r i l 2, 1979•
S u r v i v i n g are two sons, Myron and wife Doreen; and Gordon and wife
Fern, as w e l l as f i v e grandchildren.
" Mountain View W. I." members presented Evelyn with a L i f e Membership
and a b e a u t i f u l corsage a t a small tea held i n her honor a t the
A u x i l i a r y H o s p i t a l . The membership p i n and card were presented by
Mrs. J. Warral on behalf o f Mrs. M. P l a i z i e r , A. W. I. President, i n
r e c o g n i t i o n o f her d e d i c a t i o n and s e r v i c e to the Women's I n s t i t u te
through the years.
