A i l e e n also served a s " C i t i z e n s h i p and L e g i s l a t i o n Convener" f o r
the Alberta Women's I n s t i t u t e s from I98I to 1984. During her term of
o f f i c e her c a p a b i l i t i e s were recognized p a r t i c u l a r l y when c h a i r i n g the
r e s o l u t i o n sessions at the P r o v i n c i a l Conventions; her knowledge o f
parliamentary procedure, how to w r i t e clear and understandable reso
l u t i o n s and her research into the background o f each r e s o l u t i o n so
knowledgeable voting could take place- she was always w e l l prepared
f o r these sessions.
More r e c e n t l y , Aileen has become involved i n w r i t i n g a b r i e f f or
the Alberta Women's I n s t i t u t e s on" Pornography", which was presented
to the Praser Commission. She has since been active i n speaking t o
many groups on t h i s subject on behalf o f A. W. I.
This outline o f Aileen's work f o r the A l b e r t a Women's I n s t i t u t es
does not begin to cover the warmth o f her f r i e n d s h i p , her readiness to
do any job to the best of her a b i l i t y , her d e p e n d a b i l i t y , her w i l l i n g ness
to speak out and become involved, her cheerful g i v i n g o f her timfe
and t a l e n t s and above a l l her devotion to the aims of A. W. I, and her
service f o r " Home and Country" .•
