MBS. JACK McCARTEN
In 1918 Mrs. Jack McCarten came as a bride to a
farm i n the Burdett d i s t r i c t . Since then she has given
u n s e l f i s h l y of her time to the 3 u r d e t t ~ 3 ow Island communi
t y as a member of the Bow Island Women's I n s t i t u t e ; as
an o f f i c e r on more than one occasion i n the Catholic Women's
League and as a member of the Ladies A u x i l i a r y to
the Canadian Legion. She i s never one to say " no" to any
request f o r help.

Mrs. McCarten* nee Agnes E. Huck, i s the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Huck and was born i n Geneva, Hew York, on
March 18, 1 8 8 5 .
Mrs. McCarten was presented with her L i f e Membership
i n October 1954 by her own branch, Bow Island Women's I n s t i t u t e.
