Joe, Isobel, Mary and Anne. In 1908 love of adventure again
brought her to Daysland, Alberta, where she joined her brother,
Tom, i n his extensive farming operations.
A graduate i n her native State University at Urbana,
I l l i n o i s , she was well Qualified to assume the high o f f i c e of
President when, at the P i r s t p r o v i n c i a l Convention February 1915,
she was c a l l e d to head the Alberta Women's Institute - a body of
forty- two branches. Within the year the number increased to one
hundred and seven. Miss Noble held this o f f i c e for eight consecutive
years t r a v e l l i n g and speaking on many, many occasions - a
task that she must have enjoyed. She served as Supervisor of
the Alberta Women's Institute G i r l s ' Clubs from 1924 to 1927.
In 1928, due to the f a i l u r e of her brother's health, Miss
Noble returned to Wichita, Kansas, where she has devoted much of
her time to such a c t i v i t i e s as Community Chest, Red Cross and
Cancer Society. She i s a staunch Republican.
Travelling around the world has been a favorite occupation
for Miss Noble and when she returned to the 1955 A. W. I. Provinc
i a l Convention, she delighted an audience for one whole evening
with her graphic account of a t r i p to some of the l i t t l e known
islands of the East. She loves huge hats and possesses a fine
c o l l e c t i o n of them.
Miss Noble was granted a L i f e Membership i n the Alberta
Women's Institutes by the Council i n 1955 on the occasion of her
v i s i t . . We look forward with much pleasure to having her attend
our Golden Jubilee Convention i n May 1959.
