Kathleen Thompson Boyes was horn and r a i s e d i n Drumheller, Alberta.
The Drumheller V a l l e y became known f o r i t s c o a l mining and l a t e r
became surrounded by farms on good a g r i c u l t u r a l land. Kaye has three
s i s t e r s t Dorine, Cleona, and Beverlee and three brothers: Bob, Donald
and Tommy Lee— Cleona i s the only one who remained i n Drumheller.
A f t e r Kay's Mother passed away the family was never under one r o o f.
A family f r i e n d and r e l a t i v e s took the younger c h i l d r e n when Mr. Boyes
joined the army. Kay s t a r t e d school i n Drumheller and completed her
schooling there with the exception o f Grades seven and n i n e .
