PINE LAKE - The August
meeting of Ihe Pine Lake W. I.
was held at the home of Mrs.
W. D. Smith with Mrs. R. Clutton
as co- hostess. The meeting
took place on the lawn in the
form of a fondue demonstration
by Mrs Lynette Young of Del-burne.
Report was heard about
the successful swimming lessons
sponsored by Pine Lake W. I. in
Red Deer's swimming pool. The
main business discussed was the
setting up of the committee for
the jelly- making project.
Miss Marjorie Brown has re- •
turned from a working holiday
in Switzerland. She is now leav- [
ing for Lethbridge where she
will be attending Junior College.
Marjorie is registered in a recreation
and conservation course.
S\ mpathy is extended to the
" am Glover family in their rent
bereavement.
• Jargie Glover has returned
' > m a visit lo Quebec which
she won as a student in Del-burne
school.

Sang Hoon is doing well
Word of the results of the efforts of Red Deer residents on
behalf of disabled children in Korea> has arrived here.
Dr. Lotta Hitschmanova, executive director of the Unitarian
Service Committee of Canada, has written Mr. and Mrs. C. S.
Mortimer of Red Deer, reporting on the USC- sponsored Sam
Yook Centre for disabled youngsters. She commended the Mortimers
and Red Deer residents for their supporting efforts.
Special mention was made of Sang Hoon, 6, a youngster at
the centre. He is jointly sponsored through the Foster Child
Plan by the Wis of Balmoral, Clearview, Pine Lake and Spring-vale.
Sang Hoon is the youngest at the centre. Dr. Hitschmanova
reported. " The other children and the staff adore him. He is
a quiet child with a very friendly and eye- catching smile. His
physical condition has improved considerably over the past year
and in another year he may be able to begin school. He told me
he wanted to send you a special thanks for him."
