Pine Lake's delegate to attend this

Coffee party plans were completed
for Wednesday, June 3,
9: 30- 11 a. m. Marilyn Wattenbarger,
delegate to the Constituency
Conference, reported a very
informative, enjoyable day.
Pine Lake WI results of the
Constituency Handicraft: Outstanding
articles— Gayle Olson
( 4), Lillie Clutton ( 1), Marion
Brown ( 1), Doris Warke ( 1). Quilting
Award— Gayle Olson. Creative
Arts Award— 1 Lillie Clutton,
3 Marion Brown. Over 80
Award— Dorothy Herbert, first
place. PLWI had 44 entries— 52
firsts. Certificate Standing—
Third place.
The Cancer Canvas brought in
$ 347.50.
Liberian Project funds have
been re- directed to the children's
camp in Czechoslovakia.
PLWI will again sponsor the
Needlecraft section at the Pine
Lake Country Fair.
The program was presented by
Marilyn Wattenbarger, our agriculture
convener. A video, Green
Cow promoted the cattle industry.
Organic farming proves that
chemical fertilizers put into the
ground leach through the soil. After
awhile artificial fertilizer is
required by the soil. A better solution
would be to revert back to
natural fertilizers.
Roll call for May was ' A Green
Environmental Garden Hint'.
Pine Lake WI will plant a tree
at the Hub Community Centre to
honor the 125th birthday of Can
ada. Ma^ f

Big gathering for the highly
enjoyable morning coffee party.
Win Tester of Innisfail won the
door prize, a WI salt and pepper
set.
A brief report was given on Red
Deer Centre Constituency involvement
with the Ward 37 project at
Red Deer Regional Hospital.
PLWI registered to manage the
Farmer's Market at Bi- Lo Service,
Pine Lake. It will carry
through the long weekend in September,
every Friday from 4- 7 p. m.
PLWI will continue the jelly
project.
Doris Warke, Convener for Citizenship
and Legislation presented
a program on Canada: " How to
become a Canadian Citizen"; and
a reminder that there is a Canadian
Citizenship Certificate.
Canada, in 1947, was the first
Commonwealth country to receive,
independence from the Common-*
wealth. XJcLsyzA--
PLWI has honored the 125th
birthday of Canada by purchasing
a Muhgo pine, which has been
planted at one side of the Hub
Community Centre entrance.
