MORE GOOD IDEAS...
Read important information at more than
one branch meeting... some members may
have missed it the first time, and it will
serve as a reminder to others.
Have your secretary, or any member, keep
a calendar of events for upcoming events,
competitions/ resolutions/ other deadlines,
and use it as a reminder each meeting. —
Keep a list of your Constituency
Educational Chairs in your branch minute
book to save that last minute panic
looking for them when it's time to do your
annual report.
Consider photocopying a few copies of
the Presidents Newsletter to give out at
your branch meeting to interested
members. It can be difficult to absorb a lot
of information at once and this way
members can take it home to read it over
again.
BOB.
Did you figure him out? I am sure you all
read Beryl Ballhom's column in the
Winter issue of Home & Country so you
will all know that BOB stands for BAIL
OUT BUCKET, a fund raising idea for the
Federated Women's Institutes of Canada.
Their funding has been seriously
threatened and so funds must be raised to
be invested for future income. The goal is
$ 100,000 by Centennial Year 1997.
Believe it or not, that breaks down to less
than $ 1.00 per member per year on a
national basis.
I am confident that members in Alberta
will do more than their share to reach that
goal. To start the project in a way in
which all branches can participate, We
will be having a fun competition at
Provincial Convention.
Each branch is asked to make a BOB the Beaver
BATE OUT BUCKET and bring it to the
convention with their donations to date. PRIZES
WILL BE AWARDED!!!!
" SAMPLE" buckets and ideas will be shown at
your District and Constituency Conferences, but
you are urged to use your own imaginations.
Beryl gave many ideas in her column for raising
money with events using the letter B ... bake
sale, bazaar, bingo, etc. etc. Have a bargain sale, a
book sale, a basket sale... we'd love to hear your
ideas!
Looking toward to meeting BOB at
convention... the winning Bucket may get a trip
to Truro
If you hove any ideas to make
our organization run more
smoothly, please pass on
those ideas
THANK YOU... AND WE LOOK FORWARD
TO HEARING FROM YOU
