" Finances for Women" Pine Lake W I also displayed their Lorgot bird feeder as well as Rov Brown's maple syrup for the display of husbands' hohhies. Kneehill Valley Constituency 50* Annual Conference— Two branch members attended the April 5* da\ long conference at Trochu The Kneehill branches were recognized for their service to the community Motivational speaker, Brenda Ranstad. delivered an inspiring address. Roy L Brown was awarded the Frland Lee Appreciation Award and Manon Brown received a certificate of appreciation for her work as secretary, press reporter and AWI monthly reporter Manon Brown as Executive Officer of FWIC attended the January 5- 7* and pre-convention AWI meeting in Wetaskiwin Marion's term of office will be completed as of June 2003, FWIC Convention FEDERATED WOMEN'S INSTITUTES OF CANADA Manon Brown as ExecuUve Officer of FWIC representing Alberta Women's Institute members, with her husband, Roy, attended the 2003 FWIC Convention in Lennoxville, Quebec They travelled across Canada accompanied by Henry and Patsy Nagel, B C in R. V. s. The theme for the convention was 1' iiriu ipation ( ommunu anon Achievement, A I'ormula for Success. Faye Mayberry conducted the national meeting Marion Brown and Patsy Nagel presented the Conveners' Programs for the last three years in " power point" form The invitation by Alberta for 2006 was in song supported by a power point display of Alberta's attractions On the suggestion of Kathleen Lawrence, PLWI member, Alberta adopted a voluntary Badger fund to assist the flooded area in Newfoundland Alberta collected $ 1,167.79 and it was presented personally by AWI Pres Mildred Luz to NFD & Labrador Pres Joan MacNeill on the TWINNING evening in I cnnoxville Four PLWI members were guests of Cottonwood W I to hear Blanche Cunningham relate her experiences attending her first FWIC convention on July 17/ 03. Branch members placed an order of $ 142 23 of Watkins products, 18% of which will be forwarded lo FWIC as a fund raiser PLWI passed a resolution re same sex marriage and forwarded it to FWIC for action M P Bob Mills. C C Marcella Bacso were notified of the action. December Stocking Fund of $ 2 30' mcmber was sent for the FWIC Adelaide Hoodless Homestead Fund The Pine I- ake W I has been closely connected with their twin Canadian branch of 1 wilhngate, Newfoundland Manon Brown personally met Dianne Vatcher at the twinning evening during the lennoxville contcrcncc Manon and Diane are able to exchange messages and pictures via e- mail
