terrorist attack on the
United States of America on
this day, September 11,

come together to support
each other.
Red Deer Kiwanis Safety

practise pedestrian safety as

doubled as a meeting room
for the evening.

August. Kathleen Lawrence
presented a gift to the winner,

PLWI again helped beautify
the community with the
planting of petunias on the
" WI Corner" and paid for the
grass to be cut.
The Farmers' Market was
again sponsored by the
branch. This service was
brought to the community
on 12 Fridays from June
through August with a total
of 76 tables. Members volunteered
92 hours to the
project.
On July 15, 2001, PLWI
hosted 22 members of the
Federated Women Institutes
of Canada executive body.
After a tour of Central
Alberta, the women were
welcomed to the HUB Community
Centre by Community
Association President
Linda Holt, County Councillor
Penny Archibald and
M. L. A. Luke Ouellette. M. P
Bob Mills sent greetings. All
enjoyed a potluck supper. It
was a unique opportunity to
meet the Federated body of
which branch member, Marion
Brown, is a member.
Kathleen Lawrence
expressed her thanks to the
members who contributed
to the success of the evening
and presented a Volunteer
Kit to all members for all
their volunteer hours
throughout the year.

help with the Kiwanis Farm
Safety project Harvest Supper.
320 acres have been
donated to grow a crop, the
proceeds of which will go to
the Farm Safety Project.

Red Deer have been asked to
provide a supper to feed the
harvester of the crop. Pine

the fall for the first time.
