P i n e L a k e W o m e n ' s Institute submitted by E. Marion Brown Pine Lake Women's Institute held the June meeting following a very successful coffee party. Sixty five, including nine men, enjoyed coffee cake and muffins with their morning offee. Special thanks who upported the annual fundraiser for the branch and appreciation to all outside W. I. members who showed the strong spirit of support for which our organization exemplifies. Carol Clutton was the lucky lady who won the door prize, a pot of petunias. Visitors enjoyed the display of handicrafts and the latest Pine Lake History book. Seventeen children's gardens are being planted. The participants are encour-aged to enter their produce from their gardens at the Pine Lake Country Fair and Sports Days August 13, 14 and 15. 2004. The branch will again sponsor the Needlecrafts" class and provide a gift for the winner. Members volunteered to supervise the displays on Saturday, Aug. 14. The theme for the 2004 Fair is A Salute to Fresh Water or The Wonder of Water The long standing " jelly project" will again be carried out providing that juice is available. Members are looking forward to the annual Alberta Women's Institutes Convention to be held June 8, 9 and 10, 2004 at the Red Deer Lodge. Four members plan to attend full time. Plans were made for a summer outing Tuesday, August 10. Members and visitors will meet at the home of Marilyn Wattenbarger for a pot luck noon lunch before touring the College Side- Bethany Care facility and the Sports Hall of Fame. Anyone interested is welcome to join the group. Please contact any Pine Lake W. I. member. The first fall meeting will be held September 14. 2004 at the Hub Community Centre at 7: 30 pm. The program will be International Affairs, at which time Faye Mayberry will present highlights of the ACWW Conference in
