And small hills hiding their own secret little valleys, I felt that this valley must be Eternity. I thought of how, Thousands of years ago, Dinosaurs had roamed here, Searching for food before they became extinct; Of how such a small river Could have carved out such a vast gorge; I thought of Indians Who had travelled the little river in their canoes Carrying furs to a trading post ' " The Eternal Valley" was written by Trudy Plaizier, a member of Judah Sweet Peas Women's Institute Girls' Club. It was awarded first place in intermediate age group ( 11 to 13 years) at the annual A. W. I. G. C. conference at Olds. Or warriors to fight a rival nation; And of the brave pioneers Who had come in the early days, b Some seeing it as a place of beauty, Others as another obstacle to cross; 11 thought of the people now, Who come to look at the scene And then go home to tell their friends; I thought of the future, Of how cities and towns and populations will grow; They will take up more room on the earth But they will leave this valley, As a place of enduring loveliness, A place of unexplored mystery between the hills; I thought of the hundreds of people before me Who had looked upon this valley; Some saw nothing special about it, Others saw a pretty spot, But few saw it as I did, A place of timeless beauty, Made to last forever, Made by God while He was deep in thought This is my valley, The Eternal Valley.
