She was also involved in Bar Harbour becoming a church camp and with the Edith and John Wight land becoming Rochon Sands Provincial Park. As a member of the Stettler Agricultural Society, Edie promoted the inclusion of a bench show at the Stet-tier Fair, staling unequivocally that agriculture is not just about cattle and horses. She was for many years a member of the I. O. D. E., a member of Stettler Naturalists, " Stettler Rockhounds, Alberta Naturalists, Alberta Horticultural Association and of the Historical Association of Alberta. A certified horticultural judge, trained at Olds College, Edie judged at many horticultural competitions throughout Central Alberta and for years wrote the column " Hints of a Horticulturist" for the Stettler Independent. She has also written and published two books, " Trails of Tail Creek," one of the first community histories and " Fort Vermilion before Alberta." However, the most important focus of Edie Clark's life was her family, her church and her community. Edith Clark was predeceased by her husband Clifford in 1988, her daughter-in- law Alice Clark, two sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her daughter, June ( Howie) Mjolsness, her sons Sheridan, Osborne ( Peggy), Ronald ( Frances), 16 grandchildren, 25 greatgrandchildren, five sisters, two brothers ar\ d numerous other relatives. A memorial service wilt be held for Edith Julia Clark at 2 p. m., Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999 at the St. George's Anglican Church, Stettler. Reception to follow at St. George's. Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or other charity of one's choice.
