SENATOR CAIRINE WILSON COMPETITION
At the National Federated Women's Institutes of Csnads Convention
in 1957, Senator Cs1r1ne Wilson presented a silver rose
bowl for the most outstanding project In Citizenship. The
project is dscided by the Federated Women's Institutes of Cansda
Bosrd, and each province may eubmit three entries. This competition
ie known as the Senator Calrlne Wilson Competition.
The Competition for the 1991- 94 Triennium 1s an essay, " A
Little Known Historical Event" one which took place 1n your own
province.
Content: A little known historical event which took piece
in your province. Tell, who, what, when and where. What happened
ss a result of the happening? Also, tell how or where you
found out sbout the event.
Length: Should not exceed 1300 words or be less than 900.
Type: Material should be typed or legibly hand written,
double spaced on pages 8 1/ 2" x 11" with a cover and back. Name
end address of Women's Institute member and Women's Institute
Branch should be placed into a sealed envelope, attached inside
the back cover.
The competition is open to individual Women'e Institute members.
Each provincial unit of the Federated Women's Institutes of
Canada may submit two entries. Provincial units will be responsible
for their own competitions and eliminstions. The deadline
for receiving entries 1s March 1, 1994.
The winner of the Federated Women'e Institutes of Canada
Competition will be awarded the Senator Cairine Wilson Rose Bowl
Trophy to retain during the next triennium. A miniature replica
trophy will be awarded to the winner for permanent possession.

Total 100 points
ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE ALBERTA WOMEN'S INSTITUTES
PROVINCIAL OFFICE BY JANUARY 25. 199A FOR JUDGING.
THE TWO WINNING ENTRIES FROM ALBERTA WILL THEN BE FORWARDED
TO THE FEDERATED COMPETITION.
