Elizabeth Rushton Elizabeth ( Athey) Rushton was bom in Dublin, Ireland, fifth child and only daughter of Winefrede and Rowland Athey. As the only girl following four brothers, she was given both her mother's name ( Winefrede) and that of both her grandmothers, Elizabeth. She was educated in Trim, Ireland, the town where she grew up, and later at Alexandra School and College, a boarding school for girls in Dublin. Following the death of her fattier in 1956, she came to Canada with her mother, and lived in Toronto for five years. She met her husband, John; there they were married in 1963 in his home city of Vancouver, B. C. They lived in Kelowna, Golden and Nelson in B. C. before moving to Onoway, Alberta in 1968. Their oldest daughter, Judith, was bom in Golden, and their other two
