workshops to make'things for the Bazaar and they had great fun doing them. Anything is more fun if everyone is in it from preliminary planning to the very end, and many ideas pop-up. In one Branch each Member planted some six weeks ahead of date of the Bazaar, halves of sweet potatoes and pineapples, seeds of avocado, orange, lemon or grapefruit and had them ready for sale. Booths designed appropriately add interest such as-Goodie Shoppe,. Southern Garden, Tom Thumb House, Last Stand General Store, Gifts, and Oregon Trail. Besides the regular Bazaar articles, have picture puzzles made from magazine pictures pasted on cardboard and cut to suit age levels and packed in pretty boxes; cloth dolls and animals for tiny tots; extra good candy packed in tins that you have trimmed, choice cookies and shortbread daintily packed; hot water bottle with pretty corduroy cover. One Branch made big money from a rented Crown and Anchor Game and a wishing well from which the money went to . Pennies For Friendship. .Gowns . Fashion Shows can be varied such as a Parade of Bridal Frocks and with music in the background; Ballroom Costumes of forty years ago; Brides offour months to forty years ago; Grandma's Capes; Frocks, and hats of early 1900's; Bathers of 1920 era; A Reverse Style show with men modelling women'sc1othes; a How-Not-To-Dress Show. A Public Fashion Show was one which stimulated local business and became an annual event-the town merchants each paid $10.00 which permitted them to present six models dressed with merchandise from their store. A Credit Slip for Merchandise was donated by each as door prizes with the Models doing the drawing. Beauty Shops were allowed a showing of six hair styles at $2.50 for each one demonstrated. Children's Fashion Shows are popular. Party Frocks for.Girls; School Clothes, etc. Group Showings can be interesting-show mother shopping with two or three children (boys and girls) suitably dressed; School Clothes shown with a teacher carrying books; Rainy Day Apparel with Mother and children in rain coats, etc.; Party Clothes with Mother and Birthday Cake; Bedtime Clothes with Mother leading children off to bed. Many combinations can be devised and prove interesting. For Children's Fashion Shows a rehearsal using the boys and girls should be held. Have well-marked stage where they are to walk. Have child enter stage at left :rear, walk toward a circle at the front, turn around twice, walk to back of stage where s()me person may be posted with beribboned basket of lolypops. She gives each child one, making her feel more at ease. Then the Master of Ceremonies for the Show will call the child to another circle on floor two or three feet to her at right of stage. Ask Child to turn around again and then off stage to the right. PianiSt may softly play nursery rhymes as background music. Never have modelS just walk in and out again. Open Show by telling who the Sponsors are, reason for raising funds, something about the stores donating costumes, give sizes of dresses and mention how garment will launder, manufacturer, the style, call attention to the hem and give price and colors available. Branches have done good business arranging to get plants suitable to. the locality, from a reliable nursery and sell them. Well in advance of the sale contact the nursery, discuss kinds of plants, quantity and cost and make arrangements for space for selling the plants. Handy Services-Let it be known through the local paper, that your Branch. does darning, mending, turning collars, replacing zippers, ironing and babysitting. Also if word gets around that the W.I.
