apparent that such trade is not
to the liking of US -- based
multi-nationa- ls
However there is an alter-nati- ve
school of thought in
western Europe (obviously the
majority view) which maintains
that far from being a danger the
so-call- ed Finlandization pro-cess
is a positive factor This
school argues that the process
dubbed as Finlandization is the
only course for Europe to follow
if it wishes to 'remain an island
of detente'
It is our view' that the pro-cess
of 'Finlandization' is de-tente
in practice which is the
only sane course to follow in our
nuclear age
