' ' " hP "' 4 " .Л ЦМ Л. . 1 i4W if t I I ,? 6— ,Na§e npvjne, february25. 1981l 'i v WIARY BUNJEVAC U SPOMEN NICKA DANIELSA We in Detroit, mournfully report the death of Mrs. Mary Bunjevac on December 25, 1980, Mrs. Mary Bunjevac, beloved wife of Paul Bunjevac and loving mother of Lillian and Donna, was a. member of CFU Lodge 351 and the Cratian Pensioners Club. Sister Mary Bunjevac was born in Detroit, Michigan, an March 2, 1911, daughter of the deceased parents, Frank and Barbara Dumbovic. At the age od 18 in 1929, sister Mary was united in marriage with Paul Bunjevac. Unfortunately, they lost a baby girl at the age of three weeks but were blessed with another two forever lovingly daughters, Lillian and Donna. In his presentation of the 'eulogy, brother George Lulich, in the name of Lodge 351 and the Croatian Pensioners Club, stated that sister Mary Bunjevac was employed with the Kelvipator Company for 14 years. She was released from service when the Company left Detroit. One of those "run-awa- y" shops to the Sunbelt for lower labor costs. My memories of Mrs. Mary Bunjevac are very fond ones indeed. She and her husband, Paul, were one of the founders of the "Mladost Singing Society of Detroit" in the late 30's and early 40's. Mary Bunjevac had a lovely soprano voice. When "Mladost" presented, for the first time in Detroit, the operetta, "Chonita", Mary Bunjevac, although a young mother at that time, played the role of Chonita's mother. Mary and Paul were both instrumental in making the S-.- V youngsters at that time, looked forward to going to our weekly rehearsals. And then there were trios out of "Mladost" a success. We with singing continuously. Mary Bunjevac acted as chaperone to us young ladies. She was well respected and all the parents trusted her warm maternal mannerisms with their children. Both Mary and Paul were constructive organizers of functions for the singing society and they encouraged us by joining in with the singing and dancing. Sister Mary Bunjevac had a loving way with the young boys and girls. She managed to keep us under control and made sure we were always young ladies and gentlemen, well mannered at all times and enjoying the joy of being young with music all around us. Sister Bunjevac was a dedicated member of the Croatian Fraternal Union nad believed and practiced the CFU's motto "All for one and one for all". Women's organizations in Metro Toronto have resolved to unite and organize to mark International Women's this year with a week of celebrations and demonstrations, called separately and jointly. This is the seventh year of the United Nations declared Decade for Women whose theme is Equality, Development and Peace. These aims were supported in 1975 by all levels of government in Canada. The Congress of Canadian Women once again this year has sent letters to all Mayors and Councils in Metro Toronto to endorse the proclamation of Women's Week. Promatrajudi uzroke ovog feno-men- a koji zaobilazi prave vr-ijednosti, racunajuci jedino na do-bi- t, Lafon primjecuje da je on direktna posljedica potroSafikog mentaliteta. Zahvaljujuci rekla-miranj- u na televiziji i u Stampi, ditalac kupuje jedino nagradena djela, uvjeren da je na taj naCin napravio pravi izbor. Ostala knji-zev- na ostvarenja, medu kojima se 6esto knju djela izuzetne vrijed-nosti, dozivljavaju tirazu od svega nekoliko tisuda primjeraka koji jedva pokriva troSkove Stampanja.
